Deaf Studies and Communication Studies Student

Towson University

ABOUT

Hello! My name is Catherine Weiss and I am a second year Deaf Studies and Communication Studies student with a Minor in Theatre arts at Towson University. I first began learning American Sign Language (ASL) in high school, and quickly found a passion here. I began getting involved with the Deaf community, and I decided to pursue a career in ASL Interpretation. I look forward to continuing my education as I pursue this goal. This portfolio focuses on displaying my Deaf Studies education and skill development.

PERSONAL GOALS

Currently, I plan to graduate Towson University Fall 2027 with Bachelors Degrees in Deaf Studies and Communication Studies. After I graduate, I would like to go to a interpreter training program, possibly the program at The Community College of Baltimore County. I would like to obtain certification and go on to become a community interpreter and performance interpreter.
